Ashes Tour 1978/79

The Ashes Tour 1978/79 was the tour of the England national cricket team , which included the 50th edition of the Ashes , and was carried out between December 1, 1978 and February 14, 1979. The Ashes Series 1978/79 itself was played in the form of six test matches between Australia and England. The venues were always Australian stadiums. In addition to the test series, the tour included a number of other games between the two teams in the winter of 1978/79 . The test series was won by England with 5–1, the ODI series also carried out over 5 games was won by Australia with 2–1.

It was the first tour of the season for both teams. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in England in the 1977 season .
