The Audi Prologue is a design study presented by Audi at the LA Auto Show (IAA) in Los Angeles in autumn 2014 for a coupé intended for the luxury class .

The vehicle has a eight-cylinder - turbo engine with 4.0 liter displacement and 445 kW (605 hp), an eight-stage automatic transmission with paddles and quattro all-wheel drive with yaw control ( Active Yaw ). Parts of the self-supporting body and chassis are made of aluminum. All wheels are individually suspended on five links each with dynamic all-wheel steering , electronically controlled air suspension and level control . The brake discs are made of ceramic reinforced with carbon fibers . The car has a belt-driven starter generator with 12 kW electrical power at 48 volts and matrix laser headlights , Audi virtual cockpit , 3 OLED - tablet-like touchscreens . The radio, navigation system and other things are controlled via a next-generation operating system ( Audi Multi Media Interface ).

The central driver assistance control unit (zFAS) with Tegra K1 ARM - System-on-a-Chip from Nvidia is new to the automotive industry . It processes the information from all sensors into a detailed picture of the vehicle's surroundings. This is a prerequisite for automated driving . Together, the computing power of the processors on the zFAS circuit board corresponds to that of the entire electronics of an Audi A4 B8 .

The design and technology are a preview of the next generation of the Audi A8 , which was presented on July 11, 2017.
