The 2011 Billboard Music Awards took place in the MGM Grand Garden Arena

The 2011 Billboard Music Awards were held on May 22, 2011 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas , Nevada . The awards honored the most successful musicians, songs and albums of 2010. The most successful artists were Justin Bieber and Eminem with six awards each . Beyoncé Knowles won the Millennium Award and Neil Diamond won the Icon Award. The presenter and actor Ken Jeong hosted the award ceremony. The ceremony could be followed live on the ABC network.

Appearances

The awards were opened by Rihanna and Britney Spears , who sang the remix version of S&M together. This was Spears' first appearance at an awards show in four years. Both singers wore latex clothes , fishnet stockings and handcuffs . At the end of their performance, the two fought a pillow fight on stage.

The rapper Lil Wayne performed together with Mary J. Blige .
