The game series of the England cricket team in South Africa in the 2015/16 season took place from December 15, 2015 to February 21, 2016. The international cricket tour was part of the 2015/16 international cricket season and included four test matches , five ODIs and two Twenty20s . England won the Test series 2–1, while South Africa won the ODI series 3-2 and the Twenty20 series 2-0.

prehistory

classification

England previously played a tour in the United Arab Emirates against Pakistan , losing the Test series and winning the ODI and Twenty20 series. South Africa, which entered this tour as the leader of the ICC Test Championships, previously played a tour in India . They won the ODI and Twenty20 series, but lost the test series significantly. The last tour of the two took place in England in 2012 , while the last tour in South Africa was played by England in the 2009/10 season .
