In Group A of the European Football Championship in 2008 , the favorite from Portugal was already group leader after two match days, but lost the final game against the already eliminated Swiss hosts 2-0. Turkey and the Czech Republic both won against Switzerland and faced each other in the decisive group game on matchday three. The Czech Republic already led 2-0 before Turkey turned the game around in the 75th minute and thus made the quarter-finals perfect.
