Gammleng Prize

Gammlengprisen is a Norwegian art prize awarded annually in ten categories . It was created in 1982 by the Fund for Performing Artists on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Fund. It is named after Rolf Gammleng , who led the Norwegian Musicians' Union when the fund was implemented in 1957. It is awarded for achievements in music and theater. Ten artists / musicians receive it every year in various categories. From 1982 to 1990 there were eight a year, from 1991 to 2002 there were nine a year. The prize money currently (2014) amounts to a total of 410,000 Norwegian kroner.
