Homicide ( English for " murder ") is a song by the American rapper Logic , which he recorded together with the rapper Eminem . The song is the third single from his fifth studio album Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and was released on May 3, 2019.

In Homicide , Logic and Eminem criticize and ridicule contemporary rappers who are supported by autotune and ghostwriters . Both rap very quickly, in the so-called chopper style, and praise themselves, using numerous puns , comparisons and metaphors . At the end you can hear comedian Chris D'Elia mimicking Eminem's rap style.

The song was produced by the music producer trio Bregma, in collaboration with Shroom as co-producer. The four also acted as authors alongside Logic and Eminem .

Music video

In which to Homicide twisted music video , which celebrated 2019 premiere on June 28, the director James Larese directed. It has over 60 million views on YouTube (as of July 2020).

The video opens with a message from Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg telling Logic that Eminem doesn't have time to make a music video for Homicide . Logic's producer then suggests two doubles that he and Eminem should play in the video. He shows Logic via smartphone the actors Chauncey Leopardi and Chris D'Elia rapping his and Eminem's verses. At the end of the video you can see a clip in which Eminem himself imitates Chris D'Elia, who imitated him in a video in 2018.

Chart successes

Homicide entered the German charts at number 38 on May 10, 2019, and was 68 the following week before leaving the top 100. The song was more successful in New Zealand, the United States, Australia and Norway, where it reached the top 10.
