- ↑ +21 (Maghreb): This country code was assigned to the four countries Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya in 1964. This was intended to enable a common numbering plan, but it was never implemented. From 1972 this code was divided: Morocco received +210 to +212, Algeria +213 to +215, Tunisia +216 and +217, Libya +218 and +219. However, each country only used one of the assigned codes, so the unused codes were later returned to the ITU.
