List of stumbling blocks in Upper Austria
The list of stumbling blocks in Upper Austria contains the stumbling blocks that were laid in the Austrian state of Upper Austria . Stumbling blocks remind of the fate of the people who were murdered, deported, expelled or driven to suicide by the National Socialists . The stumbling blocks were designed and laid by Gunter Demnig . As a rule, they are in front of the victim's last self-chosen place of residence.
Only seven of the 31 stones laid concern the largest group of victims, people of Jewish faith or origin: three women from Wels and four members of the Baumann family in Aigen in the Mühlkreis . In addition, victims for political reasons, a number of murdered Roma and Sinti , a Jehovah's Witness and three representatives of the Catholic resistance were honored, including Franz Jägerstätter , who was later beatified .
One of the laid stones disappeared at an unknown point in time.
Some of the tables can be sorted; the basic sorting is done alphabetically according to the family name.
