NUTS: IT
As NUTS: IT or NUTS regions in Italy is called the territorial division of Italy in accordance with the European "Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics" ( NUTS ).
Basics
In Italy the three NUTS levels are assigned as follows:
- NUTS-1: 5 groups of regions ;
- NUTS-2: 19 regions , where Trentino-Alto Adige is missing;
- NUTS-3: 103 units: 84 of the 88 provinces , the four former provinces of Friuli-Venezia Giulia , the Aosta Valley region and the 14 metropolitan cities . The province of Monza and Brianza is included in the metropolitan city of Milan , the recently created provinces of Barletta-Andria-Trani , Fermo and Sud Sardegna are also missing .
List of NUTS regions in Italy
(a)The region Trentino-South Tyrol (IT-32) is not listed in the NUTS-2 level. The two codes ITD1 and ITD2 are only used for systematic purposes.
(b)2011 still including the new province of Monza and Brianza (IT-MB), which does not have its own NUTS code.
