Limestone quarry

Until 1995, a limestone quarry of the adjacent Wallmeyer lime works was operated at the Osterklee . After the end of mining, a lake formed there, which was reduced in size in the summer of 2005 by partially backfilling with 35,000 m³ of marl limestone . The limestone marl came from the dredging material of the Dortmund-Ems Canal near Dörenthe. The lime plant was shut down in 2014 and demolished in 2015.
