The Dreierwalder Bruchwiesen nature reserve is located in the area of the town of Hörstel in the Steinfurt district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The area extends northwest of the core town of Hörstel and northwest of Dreierwalde , a district of Hörstel. The Dortmund-Ems Canal flows to the west and runs along the A 30 . The state road L 593 runs to the east. The state border with Lower Saxony runs not far to the northwest. To the north, in the area of the Lower Saxon municipality of Spelle , extends the 56 hectare nature reserve Speller Dose .
meaning
An area of 18.05 hectares has been designated as a nature reserve for Hörstel under the identification number ST-012 since 1988 . The area was placed under protection
- for the preservation, development and restoration of communities or habitats , in particular of plants and plant communities of open water and moist grassland as well as of rare and z. Plant and animal species, some of which are highly endangered, typical of the landscape, including rare, partly endangered waders and meadow birds , amphibians and invertebrates
- to maintain and develop a wet meadow area as a resting and wintering area as well as an important breeding area for numerous, e.g. Sometimes endangered bird species.
