The nature reserve Borghorster Venn is located in the area of ​​the city of Steinfurt in the Steinfurt district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The area extends northeast of the core city of Steinfurt. The state road 583 runs to the northeast, the L 590 to the southeast, the L 559 to the southwest and the L 578 to the west. The 150.1 hectare nature reserve Wiesen on the Max-Clemens Canal extends to the east and the 341.7 hectare nature reserve Emsdettener Venn extends to the northeast .

A 98.02 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve for Steinfurt since 1984 under the identification number ST-037.
