The nature reserve wet grassland complex Ellinghorst is located in the area of ​​the city of Rheine in the Steinfurt district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The area extends west of the core city of Rheine directly on the B 481 , which passes on the southwestern edge . The B 70 and the state border with Lower Saxony run to the west, the Ems flows to the east . Not far to the southwest extends the 10.90 hectare large and small Unland nature reserve .
