The Heideweiher nature reserve on the Flötte is located in the municipality of Saerbeck in the Steinfurt district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The area extends northeast of the core town of Saerbeck. The B 219 runs to the west, the Dortmund-Ems Canal flows to the east . The 243.13 hectare nature reserve Saerbeck wetland extends to the south .

- for the preservation, promotion and restoration of communities or biotopes of certain wild animal and plant species, in particular for the preservation and development of the heather ponds as a habitat and place of reproduction for numerous z. T. endangered heaths and typical wetland plant and animal species,
- for the maintenance and development of oligo- to mesotrophic still waters and
- because of the special importance of the biotope complex for endangered amphibians , reptiles and dragonflies .
