Ray Reardon / Achievements
This list shows the sporting achievements of the snooker player Ray Reardon . Reardon was a professional player between 1967 and 1992 and is considered the dominant player of the 1970s and one of the most successful players of all time. During his career he has won 26 professional tournaments and was in the finals of 25 other tournaments. His greatest successes include his six world titles and winning the Masters in 1976 , but due to the lack of a title at the UK Championship, he is not a member of the Triple Crown .
The 1932 Welsh Tredegar born Reardon won until the 1960s in several amateur tournaments and became a professional player in 1967. Just three years later, Reardon won the first world championship . After two years without a world title, he won all four editions of the world championships between 1973 and 1976 and thus took first place when the world rankings were introduced . In addition, after a defeat in the final in 1975, he was able to win the Masters a year later . In 1977 he lost another Masters final before winning his sixth and final world title in 1978 against Perrie Mans .
Reardon stayed at the top of the world rankings until 1981 and, after finishing fourth in the 1981/82 season, managed a brief return to the top one season later thanks to the 1982 runner-up title. In the same year he won his only full-fledged ranking tournament with the Professional Professional Players Tournament and in 1983 took part again in the Masters finals. In the following, however, Reardon gradually lost ground on the world rankings and ended his active professional career in 1992.
Following this, Reardon worked for the World Professional Billiards & Snooker Association and helped Ronnie O'Sullivan win the 2004 World Snooker Championship . After being named Member of the Order of the British Empire in 1985, he was inducted into the Snooker Hall of Fame in 2011.

Overview of the finals
The following lists show Reardon’s finals during his career. Overall, including the amateur tournaments, Reardon reached 63 finals, of which he was able to win 34. A total of eleven of these tournaments were so-called triple crown tournaments , and he was able to win seven of these prestigious tournaments.
Ranked tournaments
In total, Reardon took part in six finals of ranked tournaments, of which he could win five. Among the finals there are a total of four wins and one defeat in the finals of the snooker world championship . However, the assignment of the 1974–1976 world championships as world ranking tournaments is particularly controversial, as their results were included in the first world ranking lists and these are often referred to as world ranking tournaments. However, the 1975 World Snooker Championship , for example, is not recognized as such by the World Federation. Thus, according to this definition, only the Professional Players Tournament 1982 remains as a fully-fledged ranking tournament.
