Ronald James "Ron" child (born March 16, 1963 in La Crosse , Wisconsin ) is an American politician . Since 1997 he has represented the state of Wisconsin in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Ron Kind studied at Harvard University until 1985 and then for a year at the London School of Economics in London . After a subsequent law degree from the Law School of the University of Minnesota and its made in 1990 admitted to the bar, he began to work in his new profession. Between 1992 and 1996 he served as a prosecutor in La Crosse County .

Politically, Kind joined the Democratic Party . In the 1996 congressional election he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the third constituency of Wisconsin , where he succeeded Steven Gunderson on January 3, 1997 . As he was re-elected in all subsequent elections, including the one in 2016, he can continue to exercise his mandate today. His latest legislative term runs until January 3, 2019. His time as a congressman included the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 , the Iraq war and the military operation in Afghanistan . He is or was a member of the Committee on Ways and Means and two of its sub-committees. He was previously a member of the Committee on Natural Resources . He is also a member of several Congressional Caucuses . In Congress, he mainly campaigned for social issues and environmental protection. He also supports the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

Ron Kind has two children with his wife Tawni.
