Michael "Mike" Gallagher (born March 3, 1984 in Green Bay , Brown County , Wisconsin ) is an American politician . Since January 3, 2017, he has represented the state of Wisconsin in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Michael Gallagher studied at National Intelligence University in 2009 and 2010 . He then studied at Georgetown University until 2013 and then at Princeton University . His studies focused on security issues, political administration and international relations. Most of his studies fell during his military service with the United States Marine Corps , of which he was a member between 2006 and 2013. There he rose to become captain. Since then he has been a Marketing Strategist (Senior Global Market Strategist) at Breakthrough Fuel, Limited Liability Company . He is also a member of the National Rifle Association .

Politically, he joined the Republican Party . In 2015, he was on the campaign team of Scott Walker , who unsuccessfully sought the presidential nomination for the 2016 election in the Republican primary . In the 2016 congressional elections , Michael Gallagher was elected as his party's candidate in the eighth constituency of Wisconsin state to the House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he succeeded Reid Ribble , who was no longer running in 2016, on January 3, 2017 .
