Peter William Barca (born August 7, 1955 in Kenosha , Wisconsin ) is an American politician . Between 1993 and 1995 he represented the state of Wisconsin in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Peter Barca attended the University of Wisconsin after high school until 1982 . After that he was still enrolled at Harvard University . He then worked as a teacher for disabled children. Politically, Barca joined the Democratic Party . Between 1985 and 1993 he was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly .

After the resignation of Congressman Les Aspin , who had been appointed Secretary of Defense , Barca was elected as Wisconsin's successor to the House of Representatives in Washington, DC on May 4, 1993, in the due by-election for the first Wisconsin seat took up his new mandate. Since he in the regular congressional elections of 1994 the Republicans Mark Neumann was defeated, he could only partly used term in until January 3, 1995 Congress quit.

After leaving the US House of Representatives, Barca worked in the Midwest for the Small Business Administration . Between 2002 and 2008 he worked for the consulting firm Aurora Associates International . He has been a member of the Wisconsin State Parliament again since 2009.
