Robert Kirkland Henry (born February 9, 1890 in Jefferson , Wisconsin , †  November 20, 1946 in Madison , Wisconsin) was an American politician . Between 1945 and 1946 he represented the state of Wisconsin in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Robert Henry attended public schools in his home country and then studied at the University of Wisconsin – Madison . Then he worked in the banking industry. He also began a political career as a member of the Republican Party . Between 1931 and 1935 he was the successor to Solomon Levitan Treasury Secretary ( State Treasurer ) of Wisconsin. He then served on the Jefferson City Water and Light Committee from 1939 to 1944. At the same time he sat on the state banking committee.

In the 1944 congressional elections , Henry was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the second constituency of Wisconsin , where he succeeded Harry Sauthoff on January 3, 1945 . He could not end his legislative term in Congress, which actually ran until January 3, 1947 , because he died on November 20, 1946. Shortly before his death, he was also elected for the next legislative term, which then the by-election Glenn Robert Davis completed in his place. During Henry's tenure in the US House of Representatives, World War II ended .
