Henry Cullen Adams (born November 28, 1850 in Verona , Oneida County , New York , †  July 9, 1906 in Chicago , Illinois ) was an American politician . Between 1903 and 1906 he represented the state of Wisconsin in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Henry Adams came to Fort Atkinson , Wisconsin with his parents in 1851 . There he attended public schools and later the Albion Academy . He then studied at the University of Wisconsin – Madison . After graduating from college, Adams worked in agriculture. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . Between 1883 and 1885 he was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly . Between 1884 and 1890 he was in charge of the public real estate of the state of Wisconsin. He also worked for some farmers' associations. He was President of the Dairy Farmers Association and Secretary of the State Horticultural Society. From 1895 to 1902 he was also state commissioner for milk and food.

In the congressional election of 1902 , Adams was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the second constituency of Wisconsin , where he succeeded Herman Bjorn Dahle on March 4, 1903 . After being re-elected, he could remain in Congress until his death on July 9, 1906 . He was considered a progressive Republican and was involved in drafting some food laws.
