The Scottish Football League First Division was held for the 36th time in 2010/11 as the second highest Scottish league under this name. In the second-highest division of men's football in Scotland , 10 clubs competed against each other in a total of 36 matchdays in the 2010/11 season. Each team played four times against each other team. In the event of a tie, the goal difference counted .
The championship was won by Dunfermline Athletic , which also secured participation in the 2011/12 Premier League season . After losing relegation, FC Cowdenbeath and Stirling Albion had to relegate to the Second Division . The top scorer with 15 goals each was Kris Doolan from Partick Thistle and Mark Stewart from FC Falkirk .
