history

Strüth was first mentioned in a document around 1277 as "Strůt", at that time under the rule of the Lords of Schalkhausen-Dornberg. The place name is based on the Middle High German word struot, which can mean a) swamp, marshland or b) bushes, bushes, poetry. In this case, a settlement is referred to that was created by clearing into bush-rich land.

The place was planned in 1277 as a row village. Twelve farmers were settled who were given 36 acres of fields and a communal forest as a fief. They had to give over half of the harvests to the Gumbertus monastery to take care of the vicarage. Strüth is a prime example of a late medieval settlement based on the model of eastern colonization. Villages with similar patterns can be found in the Pappenheim area ( Geislohe , Göhren , Neudorf and Osterdorf ).

After the Thirty Years' War , the Margrave of Ansbach Albrecht II settled Protestant exiles from the "Landl ob der Enns", ie v. a. from Upper Austria, in the looted town of Strüth. The majority of the residents belong to the Protestant community of St. Johannis in Ansbach.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684, 14 teams were recorded for Strüth. The 13 estates and the little estate all had the Hofkastenamt Ansbach as landlord . There was also a communal shepherd's house. The high court and the village and community authority exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 17 properties in Strüth (6 courtyards, 1 three-quarter courtyard, 6 half courtyards, 1 estate, 3 Sölden estates). The high court, the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties continued to be exercised by the Brandenburg-Ansbach Hofkastenamt Ansbach . In addition to the property, there were also communal buildings (shepherd's house, breaker's house ). At that time there were 20 subject families. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the municipal edict, Strüth was assigned to the Hennenbach tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Hennenbach , which was founded in 1811 . In the course of the second community edict (1818), the reunification to Neuses took place .

After the Second World War , Ansbach belonged to the American zone of occupation . The American military administration set up a DP camp in a former lung hospital in Strüth to accommodate so-called displaced persons . In addition to a children's home, there were also two kibbutzim on the site that had been set up by Jewish aid organizations. Today the Rangauklinik , a Diakoneo clinic for pneumonology and oncology, is located on the site .

The community of Neuses with its districts was incorporated into the city of Ansbach on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform . There is a vocational school for elderly care in Strüth . The bearer is a deacon.
