Super League 2007/08 (Greece)

The 2008/09 Super League was the third since the top division in Greece is called the Super League . The season ran from August 31, 2008 to April 26, 2009. Olympiacos became champions, while Panathinaikos Athens secured second place in the UEFA Champions League by winning the playoffs .

    Playoffs

    The teams that found themselves in places two to five at the end of the current Super League season played for the European starting places in the so-called play-offs, a mini elimination tournament. The second of the regular season received three points, the third two, the fourth one and the fifth none. The winners of the playoffs were sure to take part in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League . The runner-up qualified for the play-off round of the UEFA Europa League , the runner-up started in qualifying round three and the fourth placed in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League .
