Unbioctium is the chemical element with the atomic number 128 that has not yet been detected. Since there are no natural isotopes of this element , it would have to be produced (synthesized) in an artificial way by nuclear fusion . The name is preliminary and is derived from the ordinal number. Unbioctium is possibly the eighth element to have a g orbital , which would fill the fifth shell with eight additional electrons . In the extended periodic table it belongs to the transactinoids ( it is not shown in the "normal" periodic table ).

Unbioctium probably belongs to an " island of stability ", so that several isotopes, v. a. Ubo-340, could have a longer than average half-life of a few seconds.
