The 1. HNL 2010/11 was the 20th season of the highest Croatian football league . The season started on July 23, 2010 and ended on May 21, 2011.
Dinamo Zagreb was able to successfully defend its title.
mode
The 16 participating teams competed against each other twice on 30 match days.
At the end of the season, three clubs should actually be relegated. However, since only two of the five best-placed clubs in the 2nd HNL received a first division license, NK Zadar was spared relegation. After the end of the season, the Croatian Football Association withdrew the license of the champions of the 2nd league ( HNK Gorica ), which only meant that NK Hrvatski dragovoljac had to relegate and NK Lučko Zagreb was allowed to move up to the 1st HNL for the next season .
The league reduction to twelve clubs planned for this year has been postponed by one year.
