Biedesheim is a municipality in the Donnersbergkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Göllheim community .
geography
The community is located on the upper reaches of the Brübelbach , north of the Palatinate Forest Nature Park , between Kaiserslautern and Worms . Biedesheim also includes the Neumühle residential area and the Schönblick estate.
history
Biedesheim is a Franconian foundation and was first mentioned in the year 782 as Bosinesheim in the Lorsch Codex . A later place name is also "Büdesheim" and in 1766 the place "Rüben-Büdesheim" (also "Rübenbüdesheim") was called to distinguish it from " Erbes-Büdesheim ". "Rübenbüdesheim" was in use until the 19th century.
In the western part of Biedesheim there was a moated castle , Biedesheim Castle , which was destroyed in 1470. Small remains of the wall still exist.

Culture and sights
The Protestant church is a Romanesque building from the 10th century, which was renovated in 1498. Inside there are magnificent wall paintings, uncovered in 1964, which are assigned to the 13th to 15th centuries. To the east and south of the church is the old cemetery with some beautiful neo-classical tombs, including one for a Biedesheim veteran of the Napoleonic Wars.
