Ransweiler is a municipality in the Donnersbergkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Nordpfälzer Land association.
geography
The place is located in the North Palatinate Uplands west of the Donnersberg in a beautiful, high location between Kaiserslautern and Bad Kreuznach .
The Birkenhof residential area and part of the Neubau hamlet , which also extends to the Bayerfeld-Steckweiler municipal area, belong to Ransweiler .
history
Ransweiler was first mentioned in a document in 1190 and belonged to the Duchy of Pfalz-Zweibrücken until the French Revolution. After the French Revolution , the place was incorporated into the French Donnersberg department . As a result of the Congress of Vienna , he was Bavarian from 1816 to 1945 . After the Second World War , Ransweiler was part of the French occupation zone and was incorporated into the newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate in 1946.
