Einselthum is a municipality in the Donnersbergkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Göllheim community . In 2012 the municipality won the main class of the competition Our village has a future .

geography

The wine village is located above the Zellertal within the so-called Alzeyer Hügelland , which in turn is part of the Rheinhessen table and hill country , between Kaiserslautern and Worms . The Wiesenmühle residential area also belongs to Einselthum . Neighboring communities are - clockwise - Ober-Flörsheim , Zellertal , Immesheim , Albisheim and Stetten . The Pfrimm forms the boundary in the south. On site, it takes the Mühlbach from the left , which runs through the middle of the settlement area.

history

The place was mentioned in a document in 791 in the Lorsch Codex . Until 1344 the parish church of St. Martin and important goods belonged to the Neuweiler Abbey in Alsace . In that year the Liebenau Monastery near Worms bought the patronage rights and the tithe of the Einselthumer Church from the abbey , as well as a monastery courtyard and the so-called stone house . The purchase was made from the property that Countess Palatine Irmengard brought into the monastery after she became a nun there as a widow.

Until the end of the 18th century the place belonged to the Electoral Palatinate and was subordinate to the Oberamt Alzey .

In 1794 France occupied the Left Bank of the Rhine in the First Coalition War . From 1798 to 1814, when the Palatinate was part of the French Republic (until 1804) and then part of the Napoleonic Empire , Einselthum was incorporated into the canton of Kirchheim in the Donnersberg department and was subordinate to the Mairie Albisheim . In 1815 the place had a total of 418 inhabitants. In the same year it was added to Austria . Just one year later, the place, like the entire Palatinate, changed to the Kingdom of Bavaria . From 1818 to 1862 Einselthum belonged to the Kirchheim Land Commissioner - later to Kirchhheimbolanden ; from this the district office of Kirchhheimbolanden emerged.

From 1939 the place was part of the Kirchheimbolanden district . After the Second World War , Ramsen became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate within the French occupation zone . In the course of the first administrative reform in Rhineland-Palatinate , Einselthum moved to the newly formed Donnersbergkreis in 1969 ; three years later, the community was incorporated into the Göllheim Association, which was also newly formed .
