The Carroll County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Tennessee . In 2010 the county had 28,522 residents and a population density of 18.4 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Huntingdon , named after Mimican Hunt , an early settler who provided the land for the city's establishment.

Carroll County was formed from Chickasaw Land on November 7, 1821. It was named after William Carroll (1788-1844), a general in the British-American War and six-time governor of Tennessee.
Six buildings in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) (as of May 3, 2020).
Demographic data
As of the 2010 census , Carroll County had 28,522 people in 11,090 households. The population density was 18.4 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.5 people lived in each of the 11,090 households.
The racial the population was composed of 87.2 percent white, 10.5 percent African American, 0.5 percent Native American, 0.3 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 1.5 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 2.1 percent of the population.
21.9 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 59.3 percent were between 18 and 64 and 18.2 percent were 65 years or older. 51.8 percent of the population was female.
The median income for a household was 36,160 USD . The per capita income was $ 19,712. 19.6 percent of the population lived below the poverty line.
