CDU federal executive
The CDU federal executive directs the CDU in Germany . It implements the resolutions of the federal party congress and the federal committee and also adopts resolutions on important political issues. The Federal Executive shall convene the national party and can federal technical committees and working groups to use for professional advice and support. It also decides on the budget of the federal party, as well as on the statement of accounts required by the Political Parties Act (see also party financing ). A meeting of the federal executive committee must take place at least every two months.

The current and urgent business of the federal executive committee is handled by the executive committee as the executive committee.
According to the CDU statute, this includes:
- the chairman,
- the Secretary General ,
- five deputy chairmen,
- the federal treasurer ,
- another seven members,
- the honorary chairmen;
also, insofar as they belong to the CDU:
- the Federal Chancellor ,
- the President or a Vice-President of the German Bundestag ,
- the chairman of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag ,
- the President of the European Parliament ,
- the Chairman of the Group of the European People's Party in the European Parliament ,
- the chairman of the CDU / CSU group in the European Parliament .
The CDU minister-presidents of the federal states take part in the meetings of the presidium in an advisory capacity. In practice, the same applies to the federal managing director, who, according to the statute, only takes part in an advisory capacity on the board.
Other members
In addition to the members of the Presidium, the Federal Executive Committee comprises a further 26 elected members. This is also done by the member's representative. In some cases, advisory members of the Presidium are also elected to the Board in order to be entitled to vote there.
In addition, the chairmen of the regional associations take part in the meetings of the federal executive board. They are only entitled to vote if no other member is already a member of their respective national association. The chairmen of the federal associations and the chairman of the Evangelical Working Group of the CDU / CSU (EAK) also take part in an advisory capacity, provided they belong to the CDU.
