Lada (Hungarian Láda ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with 847 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) in Prešov District , part of the Prešovský kraj , and is the traditional landscape Šariš counted.
geography
The village is located at the meeting point of the Low Beskydy Mountains with the Šarišská vrchovina and the Košická kotlina basin , in the valley of the Ladianka brook . The municipality is hilly and largely deforested. The center of the village lies at an altitude of 281 m nm and is 10 kilometers from Prešov .
Neighboring communities are very briefly Podhorany in the north, Nemcovce in the northeast, Šarišská Poruba in the east, Okružná and Trnkov in the south and Kapušany in the west.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1410 as Lada , at that time as part of the domain of the Kapušany Castle . 1427 21 porta are recorded in a tax register. In the 18th century the village was owned by the Kapy family and then by the Ghillányi family until 1918 . In 1828 there were 41 houses and 322 inhabitants who were employed as farmers, cattle keepers and horse and bacon traders.
Until 1918, the place in Sharosh County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Lada had 825 residents, 779 of whom were Slovaks , two Ukrainians and one each from Rome and one Czech . 42 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .
355 residents committed to the Evangelical Church AB, 333 residents to the Roman Catholic Church, 56 residents to the Greek Catholic Church, four residents to the Jehovah's Witnesses, two residents to the Orthodox Church, and one resident each to the Seventh-day Adventists, to the Evangelical Methodist Church and the Reformed Church; four residents professed a different denomination. 22 inhabitants had no denomination and the denomination of 46 inhabitants was not determined.
