List of the highest and lowest points of the states of Europe

This list shows the highest and lowest points of the countries in Europe. It also lists countries that are only partially located in Europe and areas that are politically controversial, yet geographically interesting. If the highest point is not on the European continent, the name and the height of the highest point outside Europe are entered in the last columns. The watershed between the northern flank and the southern flank of the Caucasus is seen as the inner Eurasian border between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea . The resulting changes compared to the classic demarcation are explained in the notes.

The highest mountains of Albania and North Macedonia are the same summit as it is on the border of these two countries. Maja e Korabit is the Albanian name and Golem Korab is the Macedonian .

Remarks

1. ↑ ^{a b c d} Depending on the definition of the border between Europe and Asia. Since Putin's reign, the Kuma-Manych lowland is no longer seen as a border, but the Caucasus ridge.
2. ↑ In the conventional demarcation between Europe and Asia, the Narodnaya was the highest point in European Russia.
3. ↑ Due to the official redefinition of the demarcation between Europe and Asia established in the Soviet Encyclopedia, parts of the country are now in Europe.
4. ↑ Kosovo is not recognized by all UN members.
5. ↑ Although Cyprus is geographically in Asia , it is still part of this list because it belongs historically, culturally and politically to Europe . Since May 1, 2004 it has also been a member of the European Union .
