Méré is a French commune with 1,677 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Rambouillet and the canton of Aubergenville (until 2015: canton of Montfort-l'Amaury ). The inhabitants are called Méréens .
geography
Méré is located about 22 kilometers west of Versailles . The municipality is part of the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse Regional Nature Park . Méré is surrounded by the neighboring communities Vicq in the north, Neauphle-le-Vieux in the northeast, Mareil-le-Guyon in the east, Bazoches-sur-Guyonne in the southeast, Montfort-l'Amaury in the south, Grosrouvre in the southwest, Galluis in the west as well Boissy-sans-Avoir to the northwest.
The National Route 12 runs through the municipality .
