Poddubnoje ( Russian Поддубное , German  Schönwiese, Insterburg district ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Tschernjachowsk in chernyakhovsky district .

Geographical location

Poddubnoje is located 22 kilometers west of the city of Chernyachovsk (Insterburg) on the municipal road 27K-163 from Sirenjewka (Siemohnen) to Gluschkowo (Plibischken) . The nearest train station is Meschduretschje (Norkitten) on the Kaliningrad – Tschernyschewskoje railway line (Königsberg – Eydtkuhnen / Eydtkau) , a section of the former Prussian Eastern Railway .

history

The small village known today as Poddubnoje was founded as Schonewyse in 1361. In 1874 Beautiful meadow was in the newly built office district Saalau (: Kamenskoe Russian today) incorporated, which the district Insterburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. In 1910, 81 residents were registered here.

On September 30, 1928, the rural community of Schönwiese expanded to include the Auer manor village on the Auer stream (Russian: Torfjanka). The population rose to 246 by 1933 and was still 217 in 1939. In 1939, Schönwiese and the neighboring municipality of Siemohnen (now in Russian: Sirenjewka ) were reclassified to the district of Norkitten (Russian: Meschduretschje), to which it belonged until 1945.

As a result of the war, Schönwiese was assigned to northern East Prussia in the Soviet Union in 1945 . In 1947 the place was given the Russian name Poddubnoje and was assigned to the village soviet Kamenski selski soviet in Chernyakhovsk Rajon . From 2008 to 2015 Poddubnoye belonged to the rural municipality of Kamenskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district of Chernyakhovsk.

Until 1945 Schönwiese was parish with its almost exclusively Protestant population in the parish of the Church of Saalau (today Russian: Kamenskoje), which belonged to the parish of Insterburg (Tschernjachowsk) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .
