Two roads lead into the village, coming from Gluschkowo (Plibischken) via Rostowskoje (Tölteninken) or from Dalneje (Groß Schirrau) - on federal road A216 - via Okunjowo (Kekorischken / Auerbach) . A road from Kabanowo (Pelkeninken) also ends in town . There is no train connection.

history

In the year 1394 the high master of the order Konrad von Jungingen handed over the hand festivals to Jakob von Ponnau, who belonged to the later noble family of those von Ostau and probably also gave the name to the place. Settlement began with the 100 Hufen land that was handed over, for which, however, four plate services had to be performed. 50 hooves were used by Jakob von Ponnau to found the neighboring village Jakobsdorf (Russian: Jakowlewo), where his name probably also gave it its name. Not far from the small village known as Groß Ponnau until 1946 , a salt spring was discovered that was already known to the Prussians , but has now been exploited by the order: a small salt boiler was built here and a refining area was expanded. The permanent house "Saalau" (Sal = salt) (today Russian: Kamenskoje ) was built for protection. Salt production was stopped here as early as 1410. In the 1870s the salt spring was examined again in order to use it for medicinal purposes. As a result, however, only table salt which was unsuitable was found.

In 1874, Groß Ponnau was incorporated into the newly established Weidlacken district (today in Russian: Jelniki). He belonged to the district of Wehlau in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . But already on March 9, 1882, the rural community of Groß Ponnau, together with the rural communities of Klein Ponnau and Kekorischken (1938–1945 Auerbach , now Russian: Okunjowo) were reclassified to the district of Plibischken . The affiliation to the Wehlau district remained unchanged.

On December 1, 1910, 283 inhabitants were registered in Groß Ponnau. Their number was 265 in 1933 and 245 in 1939.

As a result of the Second World War , Groß Ponnau came to the Soviet Union with the northern part of East Prussia in 1945 . In 1947 the place was given the Russian name "Krasnooktjabrskoje", which means something like Red October place, and was also assigned to the village soviet Kamenski selski soviet in the Chernyakhovsk district . From 2008 to 2015 Krasnooktyabrskoje belonged to the rural municipality of Kamenskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Chernyakhovsk.

church

Groß Ponnau with its predominantly Protestant inhabitants was integrated into the parish of the Plibischken Church (today Russian: Gluschkowo) until 1945 . It belonged to the church district Wehlau (Snamensk) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Krasnooktjabrskoje is located in the catchment area of the newly formed Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Talpaki (Taplacken) , a branch congregation of the Resurrection Church in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
