Sentsowo ( Russian Сенцово , German  Pabbeln , 1928–1947 Amwalde , Lithuanian Pabaliai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Tschernjachowsk in chernyakhovsky district .

Geographical location

Senzowo located eleven kilometers southwest of the Rajonzentrums Chernyakhovsk (Insterburg) and two kilometers northwest of Swoboda (Jänischken / Jänichen) on the regional road 27A-039 to the station Ugrjumowo -Nowoje (Matheningken / Mattenau) on the railway line Tschernjachowsk-Schelesnodoroschny (Insterburg-Gerdauen) , which has not had any passenger traffic since 2009.

The place called Babeley at that time was first mentioned in 1557.
