Timofejewka ( Russian Тимофеевка , German Tammowischken , 1938–1945 Tammau , Lithuanian Tamoviškiai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Tschernjachowsk in chernyakhovsky district .
Geographical location
Timofejewka on the north bank of the Angerapp (Russian: Angrapa) is five kilometers east of the city center of Chernyachowsk (Insterburg) . The place can be reached via the municipal road 27K-404, a spur road that branches off the municipal road 27K-181 leading from Chernyachovsk to Furmanowo (Stannaitschen / Zweilinden) . The nearest train station is Chernyakhovsk. Before 1945, the place was a train station on the Insterburg – Krapuschken / Breitenstein (Ostpr) line of the Insterburger Kleinbahnen .
history
The then Tammow was founded in 1371 during the time of the order. In 1874 the rural community became part of the newly established district of Pieragienen (1930 to 1945 "District Angerlinde", Russian: Michurino, no longer exists today) in the district of Insterburg in the administrative district of Gumbinnen in the Prussian province of East Prussia . On June 3, 1938, Tammowischken was renamed "Tammau" - with official confirmation from July 16, 1938.
In 1945 the place came to the Soviet Union in the wake of the war with northern East Prussia . In 1947 he was given the Russian name Timofejewka and was assigned to the village soviet Krasnopoljanski selski soviet in Chernyakhovsk district . From 2008 to 2015 Timofejewka belonged to the urban municipality of Chernyakhovskoye gorodskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Chernyakhovsk.

The population of Tammawischkens resp. Before 1945, Tammaus was predominantly of Protestant denomination. The place was parish in the parish of the Insterburger Lutherkirche , which belonged to the church district Insterburg in the church province of East Prussia of the church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Timofejewka is in the catchment area of the newly created Evangelical Lutheran parish of Chernyakhovsk (Insterburg) , with the parish seat for the church region of Chernyakhovsk in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
Personalities
Alfred Lau (1898–1971), German journalist and dialect poet, spent his youth with his grandparents in Tammowischken.
