Pridoroschnoje ( Russian Придорожное , German  Seßlacken , Lithuanian Žaslys ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Tschernjachowsk in chernyakhovsky district .

Geographical location

Pridoroschnoje is located 18 kilometers northeast of the city of Tschernjachowsk (Insterburg) on the municipal road 27K-175 from Tschernjachowsk to Uljanowo (Kraupischken / Breitenstein) . The next train station was Kaluschskoje (Grünheide) on the Chernyakhovsk – Sovetsk (Insterburg – Tilsit) railway line until it was closed in 2009.

The village called Saszlauken at the time was founded in 1492. On March 11, 1874, the village and the estate Seßlacken were in the newly built office district incorporated the same name, which until 1945 for district Insterburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged.

In 1910 there were 239 people in the village and 149 in the manor district. The district of Burchardsbrück was incorporated into the rural community of Seßlacken, and on September 30, 1928 the manor district of Seßlacken and the neighboring town of Pesseln (1938–1946: Schulzenhöh) were added. The population totaled 359 in 1933 and 374 in 1939.

As a result of the war, Seßlacken came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 . In 1947 the place was given the Russian name "Pridoroschnoje" and was assigned at the same time to the village Soviet Kaluschski selski Sowet in Chernyakhovsk district . From 2008 to 2015 Pridorozhnoye belonged to the rural municipality Kalushskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district of Chernyakhovsk.
