Okunjowo ( Russian Окунёво , German Kekorischken , 1938–1945 Auerbach, Wehlau district , Lithuanian Kekoriškiai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Tschernjachowsk in chernyakhovsky district .
Geographical location
Okunjowo is located on the east bank of the river Auer (Russian: Torfjanka) about 23 kilometers northwest of the Rajon town of Chernyakhovsk (Insterburg) . The municipal road 27K-226 leads through the place from Krasnooktjabrskoje (Groß Ponnau) to Dalneje (Groß Schirrau) on the federal road A216 (former German Reichsstraße 138 , now also European road 77 ). There is no train connection.
history
Kekorischken was founded in the first half of the 17th century. In 1874 the place was incorporated into the administrative district Plibischken (today Russian: Gluschkowo). He belonged to the district of Wehlau in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1938 the site was for political and ideological reasons, "Auerbach (county Wehlau)" renamed .
As a result of the war, the place came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 . In 1947 he received the Russian name "Okunjowo" and was assigned at the same time to the village Soviet Kamenski selski Sowet in Chernyakhovsk district . From 2008 to 2015 Okunjowo belonged to the rural municipality of Kamenskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Chernyakhovsk.

With its mostly Protestant inhabitants, Kekorischken resp. Auerbach parish until 1945 in the parish of the church Plibischken (today in Russian: Gluschkowo) and thus belonged to the church district Wehlau (Snamensk) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Okunjowo is in the catchment area of the evangelical-Lutheran congregation Talpaki (Taplacken) , a subsidiary congregation of the Resurrection Church in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church European Russia .
