Otradnoje ( Russian Отрадное , German  Blockinnen , 1938-1945 Blocken , Lithuanian Blėkinėnai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Tschernjachowsk in chernyakhovsky district .

Geographical location

Otradnoje is located 12 kilometers south of the city of Tschernjachowsk (Insterburg) on the municipal road 27K-162 from Swoboda (Jänischken / Jänichen) on the regional road 27A-037 (ex A197 ) via Kruschinino (Kruschinnen / Altlinde) and Judino (Jurgaitschen / Jürgenfelde) to Novostrojewo (Trempen) . Until 1945, Lenkutschen (1938–1945 Schleifenau , today Russian: Kapustino) was the closest train station on the Insterburg – Trempen railway line of the Insterburger Kleinbahnen , which is no longer in operation today.

As a result of the war, the village came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 . In 1947 it was given the Russian name "Otradnoye" and was assigned to the village Soviet Swobodnenski selski Sowet in the Chernyakhovsk district . From 2008 to 2015 Otradnoye belonged to the rural municipality of Svobodnenskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district of Chernyakhovsk.

The district of Blockinnen was dissolved on April 10, 1930. The rural community Baginski (Freimannsdorf) came to the district Jänischken, while the rural community Gandrinnen (Storchfelde) was assigned to the district Jodlauken.
