Sarubino ( Russian Зарубино , German Klein Gaudischkehmen , 1938-1945 Kleingauden , Lithuanian Mažasis Gaudiškiemis ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Tschernjachowsk in chernyakhovsky district .
Geographical location
Sarubino is located eleven kilometers southeast of the Rajon town of Chernyakhovsk (Insterburg) and can be reached from Krasnopoljanskoje (Groß Gaudischkehmen / Großgauden) on the federal road A229 (also Europastrasse 28 , formerly Reichsstrasse 1 ) in a southerly direction. The next train station is Wessjoloka (Judtschen / Kanthausen) .
history
Geischkehmen was founded in 1404 . As a village with only a few small farms, it was incorporated into the Ischdaggen district between 1874 and 1945 (from 1938 "Branden district", today in Russian: Lermontowo) and thus belonged to the Gumbinnen district in the Gumbinnen administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia . On June 3, 1938 - officially confirmed on July 16, 1938 - Klein Gaudischkehmen was renamed "Kleingauden" for political and ideological reasons.
As a result of the Second World War , the village came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 . In 1947 the place was given the Russian name "Sarubino" and was assigned to the village Soviet Krasnopoljanski selski Sowet in the Chernyakhovsk district . From 2008 to 2015 Sarubino belonged to the rural municipality of Svobodnenskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Chernyakhovsk.
