Sagrodnoje ( Russian Загородное , German  Neuendorf, Insterburg district ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Tschernjachowsk in chernyakhovsky district .

Geographical location

Sagorodnoje is located five kilometers southwest of the city center of Chernyakhovsk (Insterburg) and can be reached via the municipal road 27K-323 from the Chernyakhovsk district of Novaya Derewnja (Gaitzuhnen) on the federal road A229 (also European road 28 , formerly Reichsstrasse 1 ). The Kaliningrad – Nesterow (Königsberg – Stallupönen / Ebenrode) railway (formerly the Prussian Eastern Railway ) runs to the north of the village . There is a rail connection via the city of Chernyakhovsk.

The place called Neuendorf before 1946 was founded in 1613. In 1874, the village in the newly built was District Althof (1931: Althof-Insterburg) incorporated, which until 1945 the district Insterburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. In 1910, 231 residents were registered in Neuendorf.

On September 30, 1928, the neighboring towns of Neuendorf, the rural community Kosacken (Russian: Kosakowo, no longer existent) and the manor district Kosacken merged to form the new rural community Neuendorf. The total population was 377 in 1933 and 358 in 1939.

As a result of the Second World War , Neuendorf came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 . In 1947 the place was given the Russian name "Sagorodnoje" and was assigned at the same time to the Bereschkowski selski Sowet in the Chernyakhovsk district . From 2008 to 2015, Sagorodnoye belonged to the municipal municipality of Chernyakhovskoye gorodskoje posselenije and since then has been part of the Chernyakhovsk district.

The population of Neuendorf was mostly of the Protestant denomination and parish in the parish of the Luther Church Insterburg . It belonged to the church district Insterburg in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . In the 1990s, a new Evangelical Lutheran congregation was formed in Chernyakhovsk, in whose catchment area Sagorodnoye is today. It is part of the Kaliningrad (Königsberg) provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
