The Kitzingen District Court is one of 73 district courts in Bavaria and a court of ordinary jurisdiction based in the city of Kitzingen .

The Kitzingen District Court is locally responsible for the Kitzingen district. The district court of Würzburg is responsible for the district court district of Kitzingen in registration, insolvency and foreclosure matters.

On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court was established in the city of Kitzingen, whose district consists of the city of Kitzingen, the district court district of Kitzingen with the former municipalities of Biebelried , Buchbrunn , Fröhstockheim , Großlangheim , Haidt , Hoheim , Hohenfeld , Kaltensondheim , Kleinlangheim , Mainbernheim , Marktsteft , Michelfeld , Repperndorf , Rödelsee , Sickershausen , Sulzfeld am Main , Westheim and Willanzheim as well as the village of Wiesenbronn , which previously belonged to the Wiesentheid district court .

As a result of the abolition of the Wiesentheid district court on April 1, 1925, the Kitzingen court district expanded to include the municipalities of Abtswind , Atzhausen , Castell , Feuerbach , Greuth , Rehweiler , Rüdenhausen , Wiesentheid and Wüstenfelden . On April 1, 1926, Albertshofen , which had previously belonged to the Dettelbach District Court , was also incorporated. With the dissolution of the Marktbreit district court with effect from July 1, 1932, the towns of Herrnsheim and Hüttenheim could be added. And with the closure of the Dettelbach District Court due to the war in 1943, the Kitzingen District Court district expanded to include Bibergau , Brück , Dettelbach , Dipbach , Effeldorf , Euerfeld , Gerlachshausen , Hörblach , Mainsondheim , Mainstockheim , Münsterschwarzach , Neuses am Berg , Neusetz , Oberpleichfeld , and Prosselsheim , Püssensheim , Schernau , Schnepfenbach , Schwarzenau and Stadtschwarzach .

Since the law on the organization of the ordinary courts in the Free State of Bavaria (GerOrgG) came into force on July 1, 1973, the district court district of Kitzingen includes the area of ​​the extended district of Kitzingen.
