The Camden County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Missouri . In 2010 , the county had 44,002 residents and a population density of 25.9 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Camdenton .
geography
The county is just south of the geographic center of Missouri on the north of the Ozark Plateau . It has an area of 1836 square kilometers, of which 139 square kilometers are water. The county is traversed by the Osage River , which was dammed here to form the Lake of the Ozarks . The following neighboring counties border Camden County:

Camden County was formed on January 29, 1841 from former parts of Benton County and Pulaski County. It was first named Kinderhook County, and in 1843 it was renamed Camden County, named after Camden County in North Carolina .
Nine structures and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (as of February 5, 2018).
Demographic data
As of the 2010 census , Camden County had 44,002 people in 16,108 households. The population density was 25.9 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.46 people lived in each of the 16,108 households.
The racial the population was composed of 96.5 percent white, 0.4 percent African American, 0.5 percent Native American, 0.4 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 1.3 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 2.3 percent of the population.
19.1 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 59.2 percent were between 18 and 64 and 21.7 percent were 65 years or older. 50.3 percent of the population was female.
The median income for a household was 41,757 USD . The per capita income was $ 24,687. 15.6 percent of the population lived below the poverty line .
