The Cedar County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Missouri . In 2010 , the county had 13,982 residents and a population density of 11.3 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Stockton .
geography
The county is located in the mid-southwest of Missouri in the middle of the Ozarks and is about 50 km to the west from the US state of Kansas . It has an area of 1291 square kilometers, of which 58 square kilometers are water.
The county is traversed by the Sac River , which is backed up to Stockton Lake by a dam in the center of the county .

Cedar County was formed on February 14, 1845 from parts of Dade County and St. Clair County. It was named after Cedar Creek .

As of the 2010 census , Cedar County had 13,982 people in 6135 households. The population density was 11.3 people per square kilometer. Statistically speaking, 2.27 people lived in each of the 6135 households.
