The German Three Cushion Championship 1972 (DDM) was the 39th edition of this tournament series and took place from October 5th to 8th, 1972 in Westerholt (Herten) , North Rhine-Westphalia .

Tournament commentary

BC Elfenbein Westerholt, founded in 1963, invited the championship to host the championship . The club was able to use the assembly hall of the Martini School, which was provided by the then still independent city, as a venue.

The tournament management was taken over by Egon Anneck, supported by the chairman of the Vestische Billiardkreis Martin Metznar. The referees were also provided by BC Ivory .

To relax the players during the four-day tournament, a varied supporting program was provided in addition to the game plan. These included a drive through Count Westerholt's Löwenpark ( Gelsenkirchen-Buer ) , a reception by the city council and a guided tour of the historic old town.

Mayor Cernik was the patron of the event, opened it and congratulated Siegfried Spielmann , who was celebrating his 51st birthday, with a bouquet of flowers.
