The 2013/14 season was the 115th edition of the French Rugby Union Championship. It comprised 14 teams in the top division Top 14 and 16 teams in the second highest division Pro D2 .

Top 14

The regular season of the top 14 consisted of 26 game days (one first and one second round). It began on August 17, 2013 and lasted until May 3, 2014. The two best-placed teams qualified directly for the semifinals and met the winners of the barrage games, which were played between the third to sixth placed. The semi-final winners met in the final on May 31, 2014 and played for the Bouclier de Brennus championship trophy at the Stade de France . The championship was won for the fourth time by the RC Toulon , who prevailed against defending champion Castres Olympique .

    The regular season of Pro D2 consisted of 30 game days. It started on August 31, 2013 and lasted until May 24, 2014. The top-ranked team, Lyon Olympique Universitaire , climbed straight into the top 14. The teams in places 2 to 5 contested a playoff for the second promotion place, which Atlantique Stade Rochelais was able to secure. Two teams had to relegate to the amateur league Fédérale 1 , FC Auch and US Bressane .
