Location of Köttingen in Lindlar

The village of Köttingen is part of the municipality of Lindlar in the Oberbergisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Location and description

Köttingen is located southwest of Lindlar , between Schmitzhöhe and Hohkeppel in the Lennefetal. The Lennefer Bach flows through the place. There is a decommissioned sewage treatment plant near the site. VDSL has been available since 2012.

history

In 1413 the place was first mentioned as Koetingen in the combing register for the Fronhof Lindlar. Köttingen was also mentioned in the donation by Gerhard von Keppels to the pastor of Hohkeppel on June 14, 1474.

Köttingen used to be the location of a youth hostel. The building was bought by the CVJM Kreisverband Köln eV at the end of the 1950s and now houses the youth education center of the CVJM Kreisverband Köln eV

Due to § 10 and § 14 of the Cologne Act , the municipality of Hohkeppel was dissolved in 1975 and extensive parts of Lindlar were incorporated. Including Köttingen.

Today Köttingen has 20 single or multi-family houses with a total of approx. 50 residents. In 1998, Köttingen was voted the quietest place in the Oberberg district by the regional radio station Radio Berg .
