coat of arms
Blazon : "Under a green-silver shield head divided by a wavy cut, three (2: 1) golden horns of plenty in green." | |
Foundation of the coat of arms: The Swistbach rises in Kalenborn. This takes its name from the ancient Celtic water deities, which mostly appear in the threefold. The Romans called them “matronae” and placed numerous memorial stones for them in the old Swistgau. Most often they represent the three sister deities, in particular goddesses of fertility, of giving. In general, they have different names in each place, which also contributed to the name of the place or the landscape. |
